I asked last night but it was late, I think it got missed. No worries though, I’m going to try @theavalkyrie’s suggestion in a bit and see if that gets me where I need to go. Will ask again if I still can’t progress :)

I feel as though @tannewt or @theavalkyrie might have insight on this. sorry to ping you, I usually try to figure things out on my own, but in this case I don’t quite know where to begin…

a #circuitpython question: making a board definition, and I’m trying to get a square wave out on one pin at all times. trying to do this with a TCC in board_init. is there a trick to this? my code works in Arduino, but not when compiled into CircuitPython. https://gist.github.com/joeycastillo/8a423e959ce09d2416fa7ba92625838c

oh hmm interesting! I was basing my assumption off of the fact that Adafruit’s SAMD51 boards all tie PA03 to 3.3V and mention it’s because of a silicon bug. Will look into that possibility tho, thanks!

I designed this really fun touch matrix, but it requires a whole lot of pins; one of the ones I assigned to it is the VREF pin which has to be tied to 3V3 for the DAC to work. For now I’m going to cut the trace and bodge it, but I’ll have to shuffle some things for rev 2 :/

oh no. I have been bitten by errata. the saddest part is I was totally aware of this one, but in my excitement over making use of every pin on the chip, this limitation completely slipped my mind :/

can we please get to the other side of this white supremacist authoritarian coup attempt so I can get back to freaking out about our generation-defining global pandemic?

I will confess I didn’t know a lot about wrens until this prompted me to look them up, but “Jenny” seems like a surprisingly reasonable name.

this could be very interesting. or a total calamity. in other words, the perfect project for the moment. do I dare just YOLO and get it made? super swift is $10, and it could be in my hands by this time next week.

ooh an update! like, I’m not saying I personally got our stupid shitty president banned from twitter again, or that this was even really him bragging about getting past twitter security. I’m just saying: plausible on both counts.

This reminds me of one of my first experiences on the 1990s Internet: the Telegarden. I watered some plants there, but also remember a situation where someone planted a seed on top of an insect, possibly killing it remotely via the web. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Telegarden

I say it just because I’m from Texas, and it’s probably one of the first dozen words spoken by the time a Texan baby reaches toddlerhood. But I also like the gender neutrality and sense of inclusion that it conveys. “Y’all means all.” :)

Yesterday was the deadliest day of the ongoing pandemic here in the USA; we are a nation in crisis, sitting two days out from a violent insurrection and failed coup d’état. So of course, the President of the United States tonight is desperately focused on evading his Twitter ban. https://twitter.com/JDiamond1/status/1347741119434649603

my sis texted “he must be so irate” about trump’s twitter ban, to which I said “hope he doesn’t nuke anybody 🙃” and i think i was joking, but honestly i’m not sure? Anyway I’m glad we have an upside down smiling face emoji to capture my sense of doom here at the end of the world

I know I’ve been banging the “people-say-it-can’t-happen-here” drum for some time, but seeing as America has now failed at the peaceful transition of power and experienced an attempted coup d’état, I think I can deliver the follow-up:
